Gurdwara Guru Ke Mehal, located near the Darbar Sahib in Amritsar, was established in 1573 by Guru Ram Das Ji, the 4th Sikh Guru. Originally built as a humble residence for the Guru’s family, it served as the home for successive Satgurs, including Satgur Arjan Ji and Guru Hargobind Ji, for 58 years. The site holds immense historical significance as the birthplace of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the 9th Satgur and Baba Atal Rai.

Gurudwara Guru Ke Mahal was the home of Guru Ram Das Ji and his family. Guru Ram Das Ji founded the city of Ramdaspur (modern day Amritsar) and began the excavation of the ‘pool of nectar‘ called Amritsar. Guru Arjan Dev Ji was married as well as appointed as a Guru here. Guru Hargobind Singh Ji lived here for some time and was also married here. This is also the birthplace of Baba Atal Rai and Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.

Built in 1573 AD by Guru Ram Das Ji, the fourth Sikh Guru, Gurudwara Guru Ka Mahal, was originally a humble dwelling. Here, Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth Guru, was married and later appointed as the spiritual leader. This very place also holds the distinction of being the birthplace of Baba Atal Rai and Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Guru. Over time, the residence was expanded and transformed into the revered Gurudwara we see today, a testament to the enduring legacy of the Gurus.
