Karva Chauth Songs: Hindu Culture & Tradition

Karva Chauth is a special occasion for the married women in India. The festival is celebrated about nine days prior to Diwali, specifically on Kartik ki Chauth. Married women pray for the well-being of their husband, on the day. Special puja is conducted in the evening, while women sing songs on the praise of the festival. Traditionally, one song is sung, when the women see the reflection of the moon in a thali of water. This song is known as Karwa Chauth Ark song. Another song, known as Karva Chauth thali song, is sung when women gather in circle, perform Karwa Chauth puja and rotate their thali.
