The Guinness World Records world record for the largest gathering of people dressed as fruit was 629 people dressed as bananas, achieved by the Citizens of Dada Land at an event organized by Dada Life (Sweden) at the San Manuel Amphitheater, San Bernardino, California, USA, on 18 July 2015.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest bunch of bananas, containing 473 individual bananas; it was grown by Kabana SA and Tecorone SL (Spain) on the island of El Hierro, Canary Islands, Spain and weighed 130 kg (287 lb) on 11 July 2001.

The world record attempt was carried as part of the Feast of the Senses festival and event coordinator Kirsty Densmore said she was thrilled for the Cassowary Coast community, the North Queensland Register reports.

Kirsty Densmore said there were three main reasons she wanted to see the Guinness world record broken.

“We wanted to put the Cassowary Coast on the map for something other than natural disasters, we wanted to put the banana split back on the menu because we’re the banana capital of Australia, and we wanted to bring the Cassowary Coast community together to do something,” she said. “That’s why we did it.
