What is DRD4 gene?

DRD4 gene is a gene in chromosome 11 of the human genome. It is also called the “Liberal gene” or “Pleasure seeking gene”, because polymorphisms, or altered length or sequence in the DRD4 gene, present in about 50% of the population, is associated with novelty seeking, liberal opinion forming, strong desire for sexual promiscuity, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), schizophrenia and other psychological disorders.
