Herbs for Depression — Depression is a state of sadness or despair that has advanced to the point of being disruptive to an individual’s social functioning and daily activities. It is caused by an imbalance of brain chemicals, along with other factors. Symptoms of depression include feelings of overwhelming sadness, a decrease in the amount of interest or pleasure in all routine activities, changing appetite and marked weight gain or loss, disturbed sleep pattern, decline in self esteem, and feelings of guilt, helplessness, hopelessness, anxiety, or fear.
