Humorous Poem about Unconditional Friendship: Best Friends

Best Friends: Poem about Unconditional Friendship

Best Friends: Finding a true friend who will be there for you through thick and thin can be a challenge. Once you do find that friend, be a friend to them as well and your friendship should last a lifetime. If you don’t, then it’s never too late to start loving someone unconditionally. Love your friends for who they are, love them for their indomitable spirits. How can we find true friendship in this often phony, temporary world? Friendship involves recognition or familiarity with another’s personality. Friends often share likes and dislikes, interests, pursuits, and passion. Draw it up however you’d like, but at the end of the day, it’s all the same. We can love someone unconditionally from a distance while having conditions for how they treat us. We can pray for them, wish them well, and want the best for them while maintaining boundaries about how we are treated. These are relationships built on conditions. If you want to remove or repair the conditional relationships in your life and have strong unconditional relationships, you are going to have to piss some people off. What I mean is that you have to stop accepting people’s conditions. And you have to let go of your own. Let’s face it. To truly accept someone for who they are is not that easy. You might uphold a rigid value system. In order to accept, you need to understand. And in order to understand, you need to listen with empathy. Accept them with open arms for who they are. They may not be the way you remember them from the first day of college. But they are the same person. They did not change. Their circumstances did! 🙂

Best Friends: Poem about Unconditional Friendship

I promise to love you
When your jokes are not funny.
I promise to love you
When you have no money.

I promise to love you
When you’re sick and all snotty.
I promise to love you
When you’re angry and grotty.

I promise to love you
When you’re drunk and unruly.
I promise to love you
When you’re hung over and drooly.

And I promise to love you
When you drive me ’round the bend.
I promise to love you
Because you are my best friend!
