How many bones are there in the human skull?

Normally there are twenty two. They are all flat and irregularly shaped and they form the face and protect the delicate brain. The brain case is called the cranium, the back of the head is called the occipital plate and the front part between the eyebrow and where the hair line begins is the forehead.
