A Feather Glider

Some boys are never so happy as when they are devising gliders and flying them. A good many ingenious patterns have been thought out, and the one described here is as good as any we have seen.

Take a piece of cane about eight inches long and to each end fit a cork, holding it in position by means of a dab of sealing-wax. One cork should be about twice as heavy as the other. Next get four feathers, two fairly large and two much smaller. Force the points of the larger ones into the heavier cork and those of the smaller feathers into the lighter cork. See that all the four feathers lie in the same plane, or, if preferred, tilt them up a little to that the front edge is lower than the back edge. Then dab some more sealing-wax on the points to hold them firmly in the corks. A splendid glider is the result.
