No more than 35% of our diet should come from fat. That’s 70gm a day for women and 95gm for men. Roughly half of our diet should be made up of carbohydrates – from fruit and vegetables plus starchy foods like bread, cereals and potatoes. The rest should be from protein, found in lean meat, fish, eggs, beans and nuts.
