King 100: Movie Overview
The project reunites Nagarjuna and Tabu on-screen 28 years after their 1998 romantic comedy Aavida Maa Aavide, though this time they face off in a dramatic conflict rather than a romance.
The movie utilizes de-ageing technology to depict Nagarjuna at various stages of his life.
Nagarjuna Akkineni has once again captured the attention of fans as he played the villain in the Rajinikanth starrer ‘Coolie’, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. After the successful run of the film in theatres, he has officially announced his next film. This project, which will be Nagarjuna’s 100th film, is tentatively titled ‘King100’.
Nagarjuna Akkineni, who spoke with actor Jagapathi Babu on the Zee Telugu TV show Jayammu Sikhamu Raa, shared details about his new film. “King100 has been in the planning stages for the last six months. It is directed by Tamil director Ra Karthik. He told me the story almost a year ago,” he said. He also said, “This is a huge film. Now that ‘Coolie‘ has been released, I will focus on this film. It is a great film that combines action, family, and emotion.” “Most importantly, I want to make it clear that I am the protagonist this time,” he emphasized.
‘King 100‘ is to be directed by Ra Karthik, who had earlier directed the Tamil film ‘Nitham Oru Vaanam’. In that film, Ashok Selvan played three different roles, while Ritu Varma, Aparna Balamurali, and Shivathmika Rajasekhar played the female leads. The film revolves around Arjun, a young man suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), who imagines himself as the protagonist while reading true stories. His journey takes him through new twists and turns in life. This romantic drama is currently streaming on Netflix.
Nagarjuna was recently seen in the Rajinikanth-starrer ‘Coolie‘. The action thriller, which was released on August 14, 2025, sees Devaraj, a trade union leader who has been in hiding for 30 years, re-enter the stage after the death of his friend Rajasekhar. His old feud with Simon Xavier, the leader of the smuggling gang, is rekindled, and the conflict between the two becomes the central plot of the film. Following the success of the film, fans are eagerly awaiting ‘King 100’ as Nagarjuna’s major milestone.
