What is cold calling?

It is a practice of making unsolicited telephone calls to potential clients, voters or other groups in order to drum up custom or investigation intentions. Cold calling is the process of approaching prospective customers or clients typically via telephone. The word ‘cold’ is used because the person receiving the call is not expecting a call or has not asked to be contacted by a sales person.
