Hurricane: A hurricane is a severe tropical storm with high winds and heavy rain. When a hurricane comes through your town, you should board up the windows and stay inside. Hurricanes have sustained winds that rotate in a circle, which is why they are often referred to as cyclones.
Typhoon: Typhoons form when warm winds collect moisture and rise, creating pressure that causes rapid wind movement. Wind speeds of at least 74 mph classify a storm as a typhoon, with categories 1-5 based on intensity.
Cyclone: A cyclone is a large, powerful, rotating storm system that forms around a strong center of low atmospheric pressure, characterized by inward-spiraling winds and often accompanied by heavy rains and violent weather.
