Serving as a standalone sequel to the 2013 film Singh vs Kaur, it stars Gippy Grewal and Shehnaaz Gill, scheduled for worldwide release on 2 October 2025.
Gippy Grewal announced the project in 2025 as a collaboration between Humble Motion Pictures and SVF Entertainment, marking SVF Entertainment’s entry into Punjabi cinema. The motion poster, unveiled in July 2025, featured dynamic action sequences. In an interview with T2Online Director Navaniat Singh described the film as “a romantic con comedy” with a narrative journey spanning Punjab, Kolkata, Canada, and back to Punjab. He emphasized Kolkata’s pivotal role, stating it hosts “a massive turning point in the story” and that the team aimed to capture a distinct cultural and linguistic experience, drawing subtle inspiration from Bengali cinema legends like Satyajit Ray and Ritwik Ghatak, and films such as Charulata. Singh highlighted the fresh pairing of Grewal and Gill, noting their complementary energy perfectly suited the film’s scale. Gippy Grewal explained the long gap for the sequel, stressing the desire for a “truly fresh” script intrinsically linked to Kolkata, which forms the “foundation of the story” and contains an unrevealed twist central to the plot.
Principal photography began in Punjab in June 2025, followed by extensive schedules in West Bengal. Key scenes were shot at the historic Burdwan Rajbari palace, deliberately incorporating Bengali cultural elements. Location shoots in Kolkata included a visit by Shehnaaz Gill to Kalighat Temple for blessings. Behind-the-scenes documentation showed Gill actively learning Bengali language and mannerisms with local cast members like Alivia Sarkar, essential for her portrayal of a Bengali character. Gippy Grewal, on his second visit to Kolkata (having performed there around 2010-2011), expressed eagerness to explore the city’s famous sweets and cuisine. Shehnaaz Gill shared her excitement about immersing in Kolkata’s culture, stating her desire to visit Kalighat, savor local delicacies like biryani, panipuri, and rolls, and connect with the city’s people, emphasizing her commitment to roles that “put women at the center.”
