Sage Valmiki wrote the Ramayana, a Sanskrit epic of approximately 24,000 verses, after being visited by the divine sage Narada, who provided him with the story of Lord Rama. Lord Brahma then appeared to Valmiki, granting him divine knowledge and blessing him to compose the epic.
