Veer Bal Diwas: Martyrdom and unparalleled valour of Guru Gobind Singh Ji younger Sahibzadas

The day is dedicated to remembering the martyrdom and unparalleled valour of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s younger Sahibzadas, Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji , who laid down their lives for righteousness and truth

Why: To pay tribute to the martyrdom of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s two younger sons, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh, who displayed extraordinary courage in defending dharma and truth.

Announcement: Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced this day on 9 January 2022, on the occasion of Prakash Parv of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the Ministry of Education had issued a notification to celebrate it as ‘Veer Bal Diwas’.

Significance: The day is an occasion to honour the courage, determination and sacrifice of children for the nation, and it brings nationwide recognition to the glorious pages of Sikh history.
