Devon, UK – June 16, 2017 – Darren Stocks of Crown Property Management and Graham Guthbert, landlord of the Bell Inn, Kingsteignton, started playing pool at noon on Wednesday, February 22, and finished on Sunday, February 26 at 10pm, thus setting the new world record for the Longest marathon playing pool (singles).

The Guinness World Records world record for the largest pool tournament consisted of 5,361 participants in the 8-Ball division of the 2010 APA National Team Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, from 19 to 28 August 2010.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the oldest competitive pool player; it is Wesley Walker (USA) (b. 24 April 1916) who plays for Southern Vending in the Valley National Eight-ball Association league in Oklahoma, USA.

Darren Stocks of Crown Property Management and Graham Guthbert, landlord of the Bell Inn, Kingsteignton, started playing pool at noon on Wednesday, February 22, and finished on Sunday, February 26 at 10pm.

The pair broke the record at 4pm on Sunday, but continued until 10pm in hopes their record of 106 hours would be secure.

The fundraiser was held at The Bell Inn, Kingsteignton in support of Rowcroft Hospice, and the pair have raised more than £8,000 for the charity, devonlive.com reports.

Staff at the pub took turns to invigilate the games, working throughout the night as Darren and Graham continued their games.
