115 children bounced basketballs simultaneously in the Shirley Povich Field parking lot, during an event hosted by Green Hoops for Hope with the Washington GreenHawks professional basketball team (with Byron Mouton and Gheorghe Muresan) - setting the world record for most children dribbling mini basketballs at the same time.
Guinness World Records recognized the Longest distance dribbling a basketball in 24 hours:177.5km (110.29 miles) by Suresh Joachim (Australia) at Elmbank Community Centre, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The Guinness World Record for the longest time to spin a basketball on a toe is 9.53 seconds by Jack Ryan (USA) at the NBA All-Star Jam Session, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.
"It was a way to get kids outside and have fun," said Adam Dantus, programs director for the organization.
