QuickTrophy LLC of Marquette made a giant trophy for the skateboard parade at Northern Michigan University; it used 23 wood bases, 18 cups, 12 skater and star figurines and 48 columns and measures 22 feet, 6.5 inches tall - setting the world record for the Largest trophy.
The previous Guinness world record for the largest trophy measured 4.92 m (16 ft 2 in) tall and was made by Kawal N.S Lamba of New Delhi, India.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most Vezina Trophies won by an individual player: seven, by Jacques Plante (Canada) playing for the Montreal Canadiens in 1956-60 and 1962, and jointly with his St Louis Blues team mate Glenn Hall (Canada) in 1969. The Vezina trophy is awarded each year to the premier goalkeeper in the NHL.
QuickTrophy made the World's Largest Trpphy trophy for the world record-breaking skateboard parade at Northern Michigan University.
The Largest Trophy in The World measures 22 feet, 6.5 inches tall and was presented to the Marquette Informal Longboarding Foundation and the NMU Skate and Snow Club.
The World's Largest Trophy consists of 23 wood bases, 18 cups, including an 18 inch metal championship cup, 12 skater and star figurines, and 48 columns adding up to a total of 192 feet of trophy column.
The QuickTrophy team redesigned the trophy, adding more bases and support columns, after their first attempt collapsed after several minutes of standing in a cross wind.
"Designing and building this monster trophy was a real collaborative effort," said QuickTrophy President, Terry Dehring.
"All of the trophy magicians here at QuickTrophy added their expertise and engineering experience to create the record trophy. It took a lot of time and resources, but the result is spectacular, a real traffic stopper; a trophy trophy!"
The World's Largest Trophy is on display in the Superior Dome on the campus of Northern Michigan University.
