Romanian Child Helpline Association and Romtelecom S.A. celebrated ten years of partnership in the operation of free line designated to protecting children's rights in Romania, by gathering 583 children to view a free show and make a group photo - setting the world record for The Most Children Smiling In a Photo.
The Guinness world record for the largest photo mosaic measured 1,562.39 m² (16,817.30 ft²) and contained 137,200 individual photographs. It was created by Smile-one Taichi Matsumoto, in Nagoya, Aichi, Japan.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest photo album; it measures 4 m x 5 m (13 ft 1 in x 16 ft 4 in). It was created by Johnson's Baby China and unveiled in Beijing, China.
The free line designated to protect children's rights in Romania registered almost 1.7 million calls and over 30,000 cases solved in children's interests.
Over 83,000 children have at least one parent working abroad, and almost 24,000 children staid home without any parents, as the figures made public by the Ministry of Labour show.
Also, over 22,000 of the children that staid home are taken care of by relatives up to 4th degree, and 1,000 are registered in the social protection system.
In the 35,430 families in which only one of the parents is abroad, there are 49,470 children and 1,499 of them have been institutionalized.
"We mark, together with Romtelecom, a decade of fight, sad stories that became happy stories. Ten is, for ever, our favourite figure. Perfect ten for our colleagues, social workers and psychologists that change lives every day."
"Perfect ten for Romtelecom S.A., who supported us and still supports us for so many years. Perfect ten for all those who call us and have the courage to ask for help. A perfect ten", Catalina Florea, Executive Manager of Romanian Child Helpline Association stated.
"The things you can see happily and with the feeling that you did the right thing are the most valuable and we are glad that Romtelecom could contribute to the cause of children in Romania."
"Very few can speak of a partnership of 10 years, and Romtelecom has been since the beginning close to Association Child's Phone and a cause that it never got tired of supporting", Cristina Popescu, Communication Manager for Romtelecom, event sponsor, said.
