Ohio's newest professional sports team, the Ohio Machine of Major League Lacrosse, organized a game with 112 people at Columbus Commons, setting a new world record for the largest lacrosse game.
The Guinness world record for the longest marathon playing lacrosse (male) is 13 hr 14 min, between The Charlotte Hounds and members of the South Charlotte Old Guys Lacrosse League at the Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the longest game of women's lacrosse lasted 9 hr 15 min between Cardiff University Lacrosse Club and Cardiff University Lacrosse Club Alumni (both UK) at Llanrumney Sports Field, Cardiff, United Kingdom.
"Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the world right now," Machine attackman and former Ohio State player, Mario Ventiquattro, said.
Guests were invited to bring their own lacrosse sticks and play with the professionals that make up the first-year MLL franchise.
Those who registered for the game were given a complimentary Ohio Machine T-shirt in either blue or red and a number. |
