Largest Cold Cereal Breakfast

324 Blind Brook Middle School students broke the World Record for largest breakfast as part of an initiative to help the Carver Center's food pantry.

The event was sponsored by Stop & Shop and is part of an initiative created by the Middle School's "Destination Imagination" organization called "I Scream for Breakfast."

According to The Daily Rye, "While the students said they were excited to be in the Book of World Records, they said the real purpose of the event was to raise money and awareness for the Carver Center."

The Guinness world record for the most people eating breakfast in bed is 289 and was achieved by Priceline and Women's Health (Australia) in Sydney, NSW, Australia.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest breakfast: it involved 27,854 people in celebration of the 40th anniversary of NutellaŽ (Ferrero, Germany) at the Arena AufSchalke, Gelsenkirchen, Germany. All guests were given a breakfast bag containing 2 bread rolls, 1 carton of orange juice, 2 portions of butter, 2 portions of cream cheese, 1 carton of yoghurt drink and 2 portions of NutellaŽ.

All money raised from the program benefit the food pantry at the Carver Center in Port Chester.

Thanks to the efforts of the 324 students, Stop & Shop, in addition to donating cereal, milk, and juice, made a $5,000 donation to the Carver Center's food pantry.
