Longest tooth extracted: India set World Record

Vadodara, India – February 27, 2017 – City-based dentist Jaimin Patel, who runs a private clinic at Soma Talav crossroads, conducted a surgical procedure to remove a cannie teeth from a young college student; the tooth that he had extracted was 3.7 cm – which is a new world record for the Longest human tooth extracted.

The Guinness World Records world record for the longest milk tooth is from Ahmed Afrah Ismail (Maldives) measuring a total of 2.3 cm (0.91 in) having a crown length of 1.0 cm (0.39 in) and a root length 1.3 cm (0.51 in). The tooth was measured in Male, Republic of Maldives on the 28 December 2000.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the longest human tooth extracted; it measured 3.2 cm (1.26 in), which was removed from Loo Hui Jing (Singapore) in Singapore, on 6 April 2009. The procedure took place at the Eli Dental Surgery and performed by Dr. Ng Lay Choo.e

“A normal human teeth has an average length of 20 mm. In this case, it was extremely big. My patient Urvil Patel had approached me with a complaint of cosmetic and aesthetic problem. The cannie tooth was bucally placed.
We performed the surgical extraction under local anaesthesia and the procedure took nearly 30 minutes,” said Dr Jaimin, who was assisted by Dr Ankita Tandel, The Times of India reports.

The dentist who runs a private clinic at Soma Talav crossroads, came to know that the human tooth that he had extracted was 3.7 cm – 5 mm longer – than the current Guinness world record of 3.2 cm.
