Oldest person to have dental implants: Filomena Battista breaks Guinness World Records record

Palm Harbor, Florida, USA – January 4, 2016 – Eastlake Center for Implants and Restorative Dentistry and Mayur J. Mehta, D.D.S., M.D.S. sets World Record for placing dental implants on Filomena Battista on December 6, 2012 when she was 100 years, 210 days old.

The Guinness World Records world record for the longest surviving quintuple heart bypass patient is Chris Daly (Canada, b. 25 December 1918) who underwent surgery at the St. Boniface General Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, on 5 October 1980, and as of 21 October 2010 has survived 30 years and 16 days.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the Oldest heart surgery patient, set by Herbert Carrington (USA, b. 17 October 1898), received a Medtronic Hancock II tissue valve on 10 June 1993 aged 94 years 129 days, which was still working on 15 June 2005 when he was 106 years 134 days.

A World Record TM was created when Dr. Mayur Mehta, DDS of Palm Harbor, Florida placed dental implants on Filomena Battista on December 6, 2012 when she was 100 years, 210 days old.

Ms. Battista continues to enjoy her dental implants and teeth today at the age of 103.

“This dispels the myth there is any age limit to have dental implants placed. Anyone who wants to improve their quality of life can do so without worrying about age,” said Dr. Mehta.
