UK breaks Guinness world record: Longest Football Manager game

Norwich, UK – December 2, 2016 – Darren Bland, from Norwich (UK), has achieved the world record title for the ‘Longest Single Game of Football Manager’; he managed Fiorentina (Italy) for an incredible 154 seasons, winning 151 seasons and securing legendary status.

The Guinness World Records world record for the longest game of human table football was one of 24 hours, played at Foz do Arelho Beach, Caldas de Rainha, Portugal on 12 August 2004. Guidelines need to be changed as they used 730 players in 73 teams – not along sports marathon guidelines.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest table football tournament; it was organised by PV Autoteile and FC Schalke 04 and involved 1564 participants at the Veltins-Arena, Gelsenkirchen, Germany, on 7 May 2006.

Darren Bland managed Serie A side Fiorentina for an insane 154 seasons, winning 151 seasons and securing legendary status forever.

Darren describes himself as ‘not obsessed, but highly dedicated’ nature in sticking with Fiorentina for 173 days, 16 hours 51 minutes.

When his management ended the in-game year was 2163 and he would have been approximately 190 years old, so there’s still some things that the game cannot sort in terms of reality.

His weapon/game of choice was Football Manager 2010, with his most expensive signing being Luis Tejedor on 1 July 2040 for a whopping £ 105 million.

Darren did attempt an audacious leap into real-life football management after he applied for the Liverpool job, but his application was sadly rejected.
