USA breaks Guinness World Record: Heaviest Squash

Gervais, Oregon, USA – November 4, 2016 – Scott Holub broke his own Guinness World record that he set in 2014 for the biggest green squash; Scott Holub’s squash weighed in at 1,844 lbs. at Bauman’s Farm and Garden in Gervais, thus setting the new world record for the Heaviest squash.

Scott Holub’s squash weighed in at 1,844.5 pounds Saturday, crushing the Guinness World Record of 1,486.6 pounds.

The Guinness World Records world record for the heaviest squash weighs 674.31 kg (1,486.6 lb) and was grown by Joel Jarvis (Canada) and weighed at Port Elgin Pumpkinfest in Ontario, Canada, on 1 October 2011.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the tallest Basil plant; it measured 3.34 m (10 ft 11.5 in) on 4 July 2012 and was grown by Anastasia Grigoraki (Greece) in Ierapetra, Crete, Greece.

Scott Holub’s squash weighed in at 1,844.5 pounds Saturday, crushing the Guinness World Record of 1,486.6 pounds.

Farm employees say 2016 was a difficult year to grow pumpkins because they grew too quickly early in the season. They say many of them split open before they could be harvested and measured.
