Madhavi Latha is an actress who has appeared in films such as Snehithuda (2009), Aambala (2015), and Nachavule (2008). With the Telugu love flick Nachavule (2008), she made her feature film debut, with a critic praising her performance.

रजत शर्मा ने माधवी लता से पूछा कि आप पर आरोप लगते हैं कि आप हैदराबाद को बदनाम करती हैं। आप कहती हैं कि यहाँ लड़कियाँ बेची जाती हैं। जवाब में एक घटना का जिक्र करते हुए बीजेपी उम्मीदवार ने कहा, “15 दिन पहले की बात है। एक लड़की ने मिडिल ईस्ट से अपनी वालिदा (अम्मी) को कॉल कर कहा कि यदि आपके पास पैसे हैं तो वहाँ (हैदराबाद) दावत दे दीजिए। आपकी बेटी की 18 बार शादी हुई है।” उन्होंने आगे बताया कि 16 साल की एक लड़की की शादी अरब के 70 साल के आदमी से होती है।

माधवी लता ने हैदराबाद की गलियों में ऐसे कई पसमांदा मुस्लिमों के घरों का जिक्र किया जिनकी आवाज उनकी चारदीवारी से बाहर नहीं निकलती है। इन घरों की हालात बयाँ करते हुए उन्होंने बताया, “वे गरीबी के दलदल से बाहर निकलने के लिए बेटियों की 3-4 बार शादियाँ करवा देते हैं, क्योंकि उन पैसों से पीछे 7-8 बच्चों को खाना मिलता है। कई लड़कियाँ बिक जातीं हैं अपने घर में खाना लाने के लिए।”
मुस्लिम महिलाओं को भड़काने के आरोपों पर भी माधवी लता से सवाल पूछा गया। रजत शर्मा ने कहा कि आप पर आरोप लगते हैं कि आप जिन मुस्लिम महिलाओं से बार-बार मिलने जाती हैं उनको भड़काती हैं। उनको कहती हैं कि घरों से बाहर निकलो। कुछ काम करो। बच्चे पैदा नहीं करो।
जवाब में माधवी लता ने कहा, “मदरसों को मैं मदद भिजवाती हूँ, मेडिकल कैंप्स फ्री में लगवाती हूँ, फ्री में दवाइयाँ हमलोग देते हैं। रोजा-इफ्तार के टाइम पर खाना भिजवाते हैं। कपड़े और अन्य मदद भी देते हैं। लेकिन ये लोग हमसे कहते हैं कि अम्मा आप ये सब कर रहे हैं लेकिन कहीं भी नहीं बताना कि हमारे मदरसे का नाम क्या है। हम कैसे दिखते हैं और क्या करते हैं, क्योंकि हमें धमकी दी जाती है। मौलाना हमारे टीम मेंबर्स को कहते हैं कि आप आएँगे तो टाँग तोड़ देंगे। चुपचाप आना है और चुपचाप चले जाना है।”
उन्होंने कहा, “हम औरतों से यह नहीं कहते कि आप बच्चे पैदा न करिए। हम उनसे कहते हैं कि कितने भी बच्चे पैदा करिए पांडवों को पैदा करिए, कौरवों को पैदा मत करिए। हम उनसे ये कहते हैं कि आप बच्चों को पैदा कर रहे हैं लेकिन उन्हें खाना, कपड़ा, पढ़ाई नहीं दे रहे हैं तो देश को क्या दे रहे हैं। देश को ऐसे बच्चे दीजिए जिन पर नाज हो।”
