The Lumbini Festival is an annual festival held in the state of Andhra Pradesh that till date gives a platform and juncture to celebrate the heritage of Buddhism in the state.

The Festival is organized at the Nagarjunasagar dam, in Hyderabad.

Lumbini is the birth place of Gautam Buddha, the Guru behind Buddhism and is one of the most important Buddhist Pilgrimage Site.

The event is thus named after the place Lumbini, the birth place of Gautam Buddha.

The Festival is hugely popular in the state of Andhra Pradesh and lasts for three days.

The Tourism Department of Andhra Pradesh organizes and plans the festival, its celebration, events, activities and other arrangements for thousands of tourists and pilgrims that gather here during this time.
