Children’s Day is celebrated in India to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, independent India’s first Prime Minister. The occasion is celebrated on 14th November every year with great splendor and grandeur. The day is celebrated to pay tribute to this legendary freedom fighter for his long struggle to achieve independence from the British. To add on, Nehru was extremely fond of young children. It is due to his love and passion that this day is marked as Children’s Day, thereby honoring childhood.
