If you own a British Blue kitten, you will have one of the best, and certainly the most popular of the short-haired British breeds.
Not only is it intelligent and affectionate, but it will not scratch the furniture, as so many other kind of kittens do, preferring to find a tree or post in the garden on which to clean its claws.
It should be aged nine to ten weeks old when you buy it, as by then its mother will have it house trained. Kittens need four meals a day until they are six months old, then they should be fed twice-morning and evening.
Brought up with a puppy dog, they will become good friends, playing together and sharing your walks.
