Parenthood Movie Review

The story of Parenthood revolves around the sensitive relationship between parents and their children. It shows what happens when the parents set too high standards for their children. Directed by Ron Howard, the movie stars Steve Martin, Mary Steenburgen, Jasen Fisher, Dianne Wiest and Keanu Reeves. Check out the summary and review of Parenthood movie given below…

Gil (Steve Martin) and Karen Buckman (Mary Steenburgen) have a son Kevin (Jasen Fisher). They fret so much over their son that he has to seek solace in therapy. His psychiatrist Helen Buckman (Dianne Wiest) is beset with her own problems and is anti-male to some an extent. This leads her teenage daughter to get married to her boyfriend (Keanu Reeves). At the same time, her son seems to be getting too detached from her.

Then, there are Nathan (Rick Moranis) and Susan Merrick (Harley Jane Kozak), who have too much expectation from their children. On the other extreme is Larry (Tom Hulce), who has no interest in the life of his son (Alex Burrall). Parenthood focuses on the ups and downs that all the parents experience in their relationship with the kids. The great caste, along with the sensitive portrayal of the parent-child relationship, makes this movie a must see.
