Munna Bhai Chale Amerika is an upcoming Hindi comedy film produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and directed by Rajkumar Hirani. It is the third film of the Munna Bhai series (after Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. and Lage Raho Munna Bhai) all of which follow the comic adventures of Munna Bhai or Murli Prasad Sharma (Sanjay Dutt) and his sidekick, Circuit or Sarkeshwar (Arshad Warsi).
Director Rajkumar Hirani had postponed, at one point, even shelved the release of the film, after the release of My Name Is Khan. In My Name is Khan, Shah Rukh Khan was seen meeting a look-alike of Barack Obama, and Hirani had also planned to use Obama in the film. Also, he felt that the idea of a common man meeting the President of the US had become normal. The film is all set to start rolling in 2011.
A two-minute teaser trailer was released in early 2007 which depicts Munna and Circuit learning English. They ask each other to translate the meanings of various sentences of Hindi to English, but get them wrong (they think it is right) to comic relief. For example, Circuit asks Munna in Hindi "Bro, how do you say 'Move aside, let the air come in' in English?", to which Munna replies "Move sideways, let the air-force come in", and both laugh. And, it is later revealed that they are going to America, hence they learnt English.
