‘Daddy Cool’ a hilarious family flick, directed by the debutante Aashiq Abu.
Mammootty plays the role of Antony Simon, a Crime Branch Circle inspector in the movie, a cop quite different from every others that the star had done in the previous years. Though a brilliant officer while on work, he prefers to free himselves from official duties to spend time with his eight year old cricket crazy son.
Following his son, the father also catches cricket fever to such an extent that Antony often listens to cricket commentary while on duty by converting his wireless into a radio. Like most children of his age, Adi, Antony's son also sees his father as a super hero. But Antony's wife, Annie is however irked and dejected by the growing laziness of her husband who was a meticulous officer during his younger days.
The adventures and attitudes of this father and son who share a heavy bond between themselves, makes a sea change after a chance encounter with a cricketer named Sreekanth, the first Malayalee to cement his place in the national cricket team. The movie goes on to tell how his friendship with the father and son, who are big fans of the cricketer changes the lives of both. |
