| Badmaash Company is an upcoming Bollywood film directed by actor-turned-director Parmeet Sethi, produced by Aditya Chopra and starring Shahid Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Meiyang Chang and Vir Das. The film is slated for release on May 7th, 2010. Filming locations included New York, Philadelphia, Bangkok & Mumbai. The trailer of the film was premiered on Yash Raj Film's YouTube Channel on 23rd March 2010. The movie is stated to release on May 7th 2010. Life in the 1990's was remarkably different for the average Indian. Consumerism had not set in. It was devoid of most of the luxuries of the West. In fact everything "imported" was good, and everything Indian, passé. Badmaash Company is an extraordinary story set in the 1990's in Bombay (as it was known then), of four ordinary youngsters, who came together to start a business. What made their venture such a stupendous success was the fact that they found a way to beat the system and soon became the undisputed kings in their business, realizing their one dream of making quick money by doing all the wrong things... the right way! Living the life of champagne wishes and caviar dreams, the four friends discover that to make a business successful you don't need big money..All you need is a big idea! With their larger than life schemes, Karan, Bulbul, Zing and Chandu go on a wild roller-coaster ride into the world of sheer glitz and glamor where the stakes are high and risks even higher! All was well and hunky dory till one day the four maverick entrepreneurs are forced to shut shop... until they come up with yet another perfect plan to beat the system... Just one more time...! Shahid Kapoor: Karan 21, genius, a middle class boy, with a dream to make millions... fast!! But the typical middle class values of his stern and principled father make this dream a distant one. Bulbul becomes one of the foursome of "Badmaash Company", and gives away her heart to Karan. In all her unconventional life, this one conventional step takes Bulbul on the roller-coaster ride, which Karan's life is! Meiyang Chang: Zing He's more than just the average boy from Sikkim. He is quintessentially a Bombayite with a big dream. A dream that drowns a little each day, as he hits the bottle in desperate search for his identity. His life is heading nowhere, and his dreams are on hold, until he meets Karan, who has an even bigger dream! Zing becomes one of the foursome in "Badmaash Company", and knows - there is no turning back for him! Vir Das: Chander Born to a Sindhi junior artist father and a hairdresser mom, Chandu is the eternal wannabe actor, with a yen for big-breasted women. Yet there is nothing cliché about Chandu. He is sincere in his passion of making it as a leading man in the movies, but "Tiger", his bitter and dominating father, will have none of it. Life has hit a roadblock except that his best friend is Karan... and in Karan lies the only chance Chandu has of making it big. |
