British Airways British Airways is the national airlines of the United Kingdom. It is one of the largest airlines of Europe and the largest scheduled international airline of the UK. British Airways group comprises British Airways plc and a number of subsidiary companies. British Airways (BA) operates flights to over 500 destinations worldwide. It serves both domestic as well as long haul international flights. The company was formed in 1972 as a result of a merger between BOAC and BOA. It was privatized in 1987, under the supervision of Lord John King.
