ANSWERS

1. South Africa

If South Africa won against Bangladesh, they would have all but guaranteed a semi-final place. This came as a massive shock for the Proteas, who had beaten Sri Lanka just days before.

2. 2 or Two
Paul Nixon had to face the final ball for England. He failed to collect three runs and England were dealt a massive blow to their World Cup hopes.

3. Herschelle Gibbs
South Africa's Herschelle Gibbs broke the World Cup record for highest amount of runs in an over by scoring the maximum possible amount. This means he will stay in the history books forever.

4. 2 or Two
Bangladesh and Ireland both progressed by knocking out higher ranked teams. Both teams finished 8th and 7th in the Super Eight stage.

Australia and South Africa played each other in Group A. Australia comfortably won and took top position in the group. They also played each other in the second semi-final.
