A style of television entertainment that combines two genres, dramedy also comprises many styles of television, theatre and film. It balances humor and drama, or serious content, to an almost equal extent. A dramedy is also called comedy-drama or seriocomedy. One of the first times a dramedy was attempted was with Charlie Chaplin's ‘The Kid’.
