Umaid Bhawan Palace one of the most the stunning palaces in India, it also happens to be the last and the largest palace residence built in the country. Spread in a sprawling area of 26 acres of lush gardens it was built by Maharaja Umaid Singh in 1928 and took 15 years to be completed by 1943. Serving as the residence to the royal family of Jodhpur since then, it is a huge palace with 347 rooms and the present Maharaja still resides in a part of the palace. |
