There are at least four definitions relating to fruits and vegetables: Scientifically Fruit is the ovary of a seed-bearing plant, Fruit (culinary): any edible part of a plant with a sweet flavor, Vegetable is any edible part of a plant with a savory flavor. Vegetables are divided into Flower bud, Seeds, Leaves, Leaf sheaths, Buds, Stem, Stems of leaves, Stem shoots, Tubers, Whole-plant sprouts, Roots, Bulbs. Fruit results from maturation of one or more flowers, and the gynoecium of the flower forms all or part of the fruit.
