After getting mandate in the UP Assembly elections, Samajwadi Party workers have gone out of control. Violating the instructions of their party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav to maintain discipline and breaking the promises made by Akhilesh Yadav that the rule of violence won't return to the state, SP workers allegedly torched several houses in Reosa area of Sitapur district on Wednesday night.
The violence broke out over an old rivalry involving an local MLA in Bambia village, Reosa Station Officer (SO) Pramod Shukla said. The SP goons also set 13 other houses on fire. The police have arrested two people in this connection and lodged a case against 12 persons, the SO said. They are allegedly supporters of SP MLA Jeena Babu.
According to media reports, they also opened fire on supporters of the MLA. Four persons suffered injuries in the incident. Currently, they are undergoing treatment.
On Tuesday, while the SP celebrated a landslide victory in the UP polls, a 7-year-old child died in celebratory gunfire. His family is in a state of shock.
After the incidents of stone pelting at journalists, allegedly by SP workers in Jhansi, and death of a child in the celebratory fire by a SP MLA, it seems that it is a challenge ahead for Akhilesh Yadav to maintain law and order in the state. |
