The Netherlands defeated England 4-3 in a play-off to win the Hockey World Cup bronze in New Delhi on Saturday.

The Netherlands, who had finished seventh in the previous edition, scored through Teun de Noojier, Taeke Taekema, Klaas Vermeulen and Rogier Hofman.

For England, Ashley Jackson converted two penalty corners while Alastair Brogdon scored one. European champions finished their campaign in fourth place.
