Top fitness trade show FIBO in Essen, Germany, April 14-17, just opened its doors, and this year the event is hosting FIBOmed, "a trade show within a trade show," showcasing new at-home health devices, cutting-edge medical equipment and therapies, and novel gadgets.
FIBOmed launched in 2008 and has grown in size every year, attracting health companies and practitioners from all over the world to the event. More than 50 medical health exhibits are currently on display at the event, including training equipment used for physiotherapist practices, rehab facilities, and physician practices.
Attendees can also check out products for dialysis and analysis such as scales, sphygmomanometers, and 3D spine surveys, in addition to standard fitness gadgets like ergometers. Also, different therapy concepts are being presented, such as pezzi gym training balls, shock waves therapy, or kinesiology techniques.
Among the more novel products on display is the Chirotracter, a German-made device designed to simulate a chiropractic treatment, correcting misalignments in the lower back and offering relief from back pain.
South Korea's Biospace is flaunting its InBody bioelectrical impedance analyzers for estimating body composition, including fat composition. Fitness gear in the FIBOmed section includes Germany's Powerhoop, a weighted, wavy hoop designed for a more efficient hula hoop workout, and PowerPlate's vibration fitness equipment. Also on hand are large companies Life Fitness, Johnson and Johnson, and Technogym, among many others.
FIBO celebrates its 26th anniversary as Europe's key health, fitness, and wellness trade event. Essen is welcoming more than 30,000 health industry professionals and an additional 20,000 individuals from 100 countries interested in overall health, including health specialists (physiotherapists, orthopedists, cardiologists, internists) for the FIBOmed section.
FIBO rivals other major international trade fitness events such the Los Angeles-based IHRSA International Convention & Trade Show, which took place earlier this month, and the IDEA World Fitness Convention, also in Los Angeles, which will take place August 11-14. |
