The Allahabad high court has issued notices to the producer and director of the Abhishek Bachchan - starrer Dum Maro Dum in connection with the “objectionable” promos of the film being shown on television.

Lucknow based advocates Rohit Tripathi and Tripuresh Tripathi have filed a petition in the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court requesting it to issue directives to the producer and director of the film to suitably amend the name of the film.

They also asked for ban on public telecast of the song 'Dum Maro Dum' or to suitably modify it so that it falls within the purview of morality and decency.

The matter came up for hearing on Monday before chief justice Ferdino Inacio Rebello. The court issued notices to the respondents including the government and the censor board. The high court has given three weeks’ time to the respondents to clarify their position.

Meanwhile, the Bombay high court bench in Panaji dismissed the petition filed against the release of the movie Dum Maro Dum that attracted flak for allegedly portraying Goa and its people in bad light.

The bench said the petition be dismissed since the objectionable content has been deleted by the filmmaker.
