Blackberry maker RIM has introduces its Bold 9860 in India. The Bold 9860 seems a high-end smartphone with features such as the Blackberry OS 7 and a 3.7-inch display.
Blackberry is a brand renowned for its high-end smartphones. It handsets boast of features such as the Blackberry messenger (BBM).
Ms. Frenny Bawa, MD at RIM's Indian division was quoted as saying "We are very excited to build on the success of the Blackberry solution in India with the introduction of the new Blackberry Torch 9860."
This powerful new smartphone features many new enhancements, including the next generation Blackberry 7 operating system, and we think customers will be particularly thrilled by the faster performance enhanced browsing and richer multimedia.”
Equipped with a 3.7-inch TFT touchscreen along with a 480 x 800 pixels resolution, the Bold 9860 has 1.2 GHz processor along with 768 MB RAM.
The set offers Blackberry's next generation operating system the OS 7, which provides 40 percent more speed than the previous Blackberry OS. It also has better optimized HTML5 browser to provide a better gaming and video experience.
In addition to that, it is equipped with Liquid Graphics technology which blends both the GPU and CPU of a phone to provide an enhanced graphics experience.
The handset also offers a 5-megapixel autofocus camera capable of producing 720p videos.
Moreover, the Bold 9860 is one of the few smartphones in India with NFC support. Near-fields communications or NFC support enables better integration between two devices.
In addition to that, the 9860 offers pre-loaded apps such as a digital compass, social feeds, Blackberry Maps, Document viewer, Organizer, aGPS and Voice dialing feature.
The powerhouse of the 9860 lies in its 1230 mAh battery.
The 9860 is the second of the three Blackberry devices headed our way this year. The other devices include the already-launched Blackberry Bold 9900 and the upcoming 9810 handset.
