India have suffered a blow just before the summit clash with Sri Lanka as pacer Ashish Nehra has been ruled out of the World Cup final match with a finger injury.

India play Kumar Sangakkara and Co. on April 2 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

He fractured his right hand middle finger while fielding in the semi-final match against Pakistan on Wednesday in Mohali. Nehra, who was the most economical bowler against Pakistan and picked two wickets, will have to undergo surgery.

He is likely to miss a few a weeks of the Indian Premier League too, which starts April 8.
