Expect big names like AIB, Jaswinder Bhalla-Bal Mukund Sharma, Surinder Sharma, Rana Ranbir, Amit Tandon, Rupesh Tillu, Deepak Raja and Sumedh Shinde to give rib-tickling performances. Spread across two evenings, this fest, painstakingly put together by the Department of Cultural Affairs Chandigarh Administration and Bhatti family, promises two evenings of non-stop laughter!
In no time, the value of humour has been as significant as today’s stressed times when everyone and everything is open to scrutiny. “I have learnt the most valuable lessons from Jaspal ji through humour only,” opens up Savita Bhatti, grateful at the immense support that has landed at her door through the administration and artistes alike.
While the stand-up comedy scene has grown lately and so has social scrutiny and what Savita Bhatti misses is the trait to laugh at ourselves. “What made Jaspal ji unique was his ability to make fun of himself. How often you see people establishing Nonsense Clubs? Nothing relives pain better than humour and we are dedicating this fest to everyone’s beloved Jaspal Bhatti.” — Mona
