Chiranjit was born in 1984, 23rd Feb in Kolkata. He was nurtured from day one to be a tabla player. Chiranjit started Tabla playing at his early age of 6 (six) under the guidance of Mr. Sailesh Chakraborty and from 2003 under the legendary Tabla Maestro Pandit Kumar Bose. Chiranjit is one of very few who was able to hold the first place in his undergraduate and also in the post graduate degree from Rabindra Bharati University in Music(percussion).In addition to his fine Tabla skills his love for the instrument and the music is clearly visible in his playing.He has accompanied many musicians and dancers in India and also in abroad(UK).

AWARDS AND SCHOLARSHIP

a)Received “Niradbaran smriti purashkar” from Rabindra Bharati University for securing highest marks in B.A examination (2005) in Instrumental Music(percussion).

b)Received “Pratibha Devichaudhurani Merit Scholarship” from ‘WESTBENGAL STATE ACADEMY OF DANCE, DRAMA, MUSIC AND VISUAL ARTS’.

c)Received “Niradbaran smriti purashkar” again from Rabindra Bharati University for securing highest marks in M.A examination(2007)in Instrumental Music(percussion).
