Written by: P. L. Deshpande; Directed by: Shrikant Moghe; This play is a revival of the original production which was launched 50 years ago on September 15, 1960. Then it starred the famous Marathi litterateur and actor Pu La as the city-dwelling protagonist who revisits his native village only to be alarmed by the rapid urbanization it is undergoing. He meets with a local slicker who apes Bollywood stars, played by Shrikant Moghe originally, and when he asks him as to where could he catch an authentic lavni in the village, "In Mumbai," pat comes the slicker's reply!

The second act of the play comprises 'Ravivaar Sakaal' describing a lazy Sunday afternoon that Pu La spends at his Mumbai apartment playing the harmonium and being dully punctuated by the laundryman , the neighbours and the wife (played by Ashalata Wabgaonkar originally) pestering him to buy the weekly groceries.

All in all it is a vintage treat of Pu La humour that no true-blue theatre lover can afford to miss. Also watch at 27 May, Sunday 04:00 pm, Prabodhankar Thackrey Auditorium.
