| This festival of summer ballet organised by Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra explores all the nuances of life. From the human cycle of birth and death to relationship between man and destiny, all is explored in this fest. The wide range of mesmerising dance performances in Chhau and folk dance forms collaborated with traditional folk music, light and costume design, all combine to form a spectacular dance event. May 4: Karna, a ballet in Mayurbhanj Chhau, which depicts a penetrating study of relations between nature and nurture, deemed and redeemed, man and his destiny. May 5: Meera, a dance-drama on the life of Meerabai. It interrogates the situation of women in India who seek space in a male dominated society. May 8: Parikrama, a state of mind, which plunges into and emerges from the cycle of human birth and death. May 11 & May 12: Kumar Sambhava, a drama unfolded through creative dance. |
