| Amrita Lahiri began her training in Kuchipudi as a student of Anuradha Nehru, a disciple of Guru Vempati Chinna Satyam. She later learnt Bharata Natyam from Leela Samson in New Delhi, and continued her training in Kuchipudi under Swapnasundari. Her art reflects the influences of all these outstanding gurus as well as the experience of several performances as a soloist. Her recent solo Kuchipudi performances include shows at Kalakshetra, Chennai; the World Bank and Gandhi Center, Washington DC; as well as the India Habitat Center, the India International Centre and the Gandharva Mahavidyalaya in New Delhi.
