Pratibimb, a two-day seminar conceived as a reflection on the Ananya Dance Festival organized by Seher, New Delhi and focussed on the choreographies presented at the Festival.

Ananya 2013 is scheduled as follows:
  • 2nd Oct, 2013 - Smt. Malabika Mitra & Group (Kathak)
  • 3rd Oct, 2013 - Smt. Pallavi Krishnan & Group (Mohiniattam)
  • 4th Oct, 2013 - Smt. Bindu Juneja & Group (Odissi)
  • 5th Oct, 2013 - Smt. Maitreyee Pahari & Group (Kathak & Chhau)
  • 6th Oct, 2013 - Sandhya & Kiran Subramanium with Group (Bharatnatyam)

This year, Pratibimb is scheduled to be held on 5 and 6 October 2013 at the India International Centre, New Delhi from 10.30 am till 1.30 pm.

As we all know, Ananya is a festival of Indian classical dances that features group choreographies of the major Indian classical forms on a single stage.

In an attempt to bridge the distance between the performer on stage and the rasikas in the audience, Pratibimb is envisioned as an interactive session that will explore the creative process that leads to the final choreographies we see on stage.

During the two- day seminar, the discussion not only hopes to have the dancer-choreographers articulate their own thought process while they create but also to address certain larger questions that are so relevant to Indian classical dance and other performative traditions today.

The seminar is a dialogue, led by the choreographers, but enlivened through the participation of the audience young dancers, scholars, students, dance-enthusiasts.

Thus, we invite you to this healthy debate on dance making and its many facets.
